"Since the beginning of 2013, my office has assisted more than 270 residents of the 60th House District in resolving myriad issues including unemployment, taxes, Department of Human Services benefits, Secretary of State issues, housing and small business matters."
Jon is in his first term as the representative for the 60th House District, which includes Kalamazoo and portions of the city of Portage and Kalamazoo Township.
Rep. Hoadley is committed to fighting for Michigan families, strengthening our public schools and bringing opportunity and equality to Michiganders. Before joining the Legislature, he was president and owner of Badlands Strategies, a progressive public affairs firm. He also managed the One Kalamazoo campaign to defend the Kalamazoo Non-Discrimination Ordinance and played an integral role in a similar campaign in Royal Oak. As a result of those victories, Hoadley regularly consults on nondiscrimination campaigns across the country. Previously Hoadley has served as Executive Director of National Stonewall Democrats, worked for the Gill Action Fund and managed South Dakotans Against Discrimination.
In the community, Hoadley serves as the Vice President on the board of CARES, an HIV/AIDS Service Organization in Southwest Michigan. Jon is also on the board of the Michigan Democratic Party Executive Committee and is on the board of the party’s Justice Caucus. Jon is the recipient of the Norman Lear Alumni Award from People For The American Way and regularly trains with the Front Lines Leaders Academy to prepare the next generation of progressive public servants.
A graduate of Michigan State University, Hoadley lives in Kalamazoo with his partner, Kris, and the world’s friendliest beagle, Benjamin.
